System Requirements

You will need your brain and your honesty.

You may need a tape-measure with both metric and Imperial (also called "Standard" or "English") measurements on it, if you don't know your body measurements. It does ask for a few.

You will need to make sure JavaScripting is enabled on your web browser for starters. If you get those annoying little "Pop-Up" advertisements, your set. You can't even launch the test page if it's not enabled. There are also some "mouseover" image swaps for which it is required.

S.A.G.E. has been tested on the following platforms:

Windows 95/98 PC:

  • Netscape Navigator/Communicator version 4.78 and version 6.1
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 - BEST CHOICE!
  • Opera 5 (MUST identify itself as Opera and web pages must be allowed to launch pop-up windows - check your preferences)

Macintosh OS 8.0:

  • Netscape Navigator/Communicator version 4.08
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0

It should also work on later versions of the same browsers or operating systems. But there are no guarantees. Use the new "TEST PAGE" feature described int he Directions on the test to determine compatibility BEFORE you take the test!

Keep in mind that this program is a prototype (or "Beta Version" if you like). It may take MINUTES to load, depending on your connection. The test is approximately 300 kilobytes.
The Sex And Gender Explorer Test

Welcome to the Sex And Gender Explorer, or S.A.G.E. test. This test is an automated psychological evaluation designed to identify possible gender identity conflicts. There isn't actually a "target audience" for the test. It doesn't assume that anyone who takes it must have some kind of conflict - it can just as easily tell you "all is well" as say you should "seek help." It also makes no assumptions about your birth sex, so anyone - male, female, or intersexed, should be able to answer all the questions.

However, if you feel you MIGHT be troubled by gender identity conflicts, this test might be the "objective opinion" you're looking for. Although the results of a lot of scientific findings and statistical probablilities have made their way into this test, it is for self-discovery or entertainment purposes and is SHOULD NOT be considered a diagnostic tool for psychological problems! The author makes no medical claims and does not guarantee accuracy of results. If you believe you have a serious psychological problem, please see a qualified therapist!
