>>>> THE MONSTER LIST of LINKS <<<<<

Here it is folks, the Mother of all TG Link lists! Formerly available through the University of Southampton, UK, web site, now I've reproduced this incredible list of links here to make sure it doesn't disappear on me (or you) again. It's so long I had to seperate it out into its own page (word of warning: its just text but it's a 145k file - which means it may take more than 20 seconds to load on a 56K dial-up connection)

GID.info SELECTED INFORMATION SITES

TS SUCCESSES by Lynn Conway

This is one of the most uplifting collections on the web. SO MANY people only focus on the negatives - all the transsexual people who have been victims of hate crimes, suicides, murders, prostitution and sexual slavery. It makes one start to think that the only outcome of transition is a life filled with fear, abuse, and other hardships. But Lynn Conway ( a TS Success herself) has assembled a wonderful tribute page to the TS women who are not only succeeding, but LEADING in their fields. Wonderful ammunition against anyone who says you'll never make anything of your life if you transition. These women did!

The Birth of Venus

Annie Richards web site is a wonderful resource full of information presented in a way that's easy to understand and navigate. A great place to learn stuff for yourself, or a site to point to for friends or relatives with questions. [note: her site is rarely available due to ISP issues - someone with a server and space PLEASE host or mirror the site for her!]

TS Roadmap

If you are seriously considering transition, you'll want to read this first! The web's BEST resource for specifics concerning how you plan for and succeed in transition from one gender to another.

Gender Dysphoria: A Guide for the Non-Transitioning

I think the title of this site is a bit off the mark, as the author admits electrolysis and rhinoplasty are "steps" in her own "transition", which (to me) says she IS "transitioning." However, I include the link because the author seemed to summarize what GID is in a very understandable way.

The International Journal of Transgenderism

This is the definitive medical journal on the subject of transgender problems. REAL information, not conjecture from the people who have made this problem their life's work. Can be kind of heady to read at times, after all it is a journal for doctors.

Intersex Society of North America

This is the definitive resource (in the USA at least) for information about intersexed people. It does have a "political agenda" which is to stop doctors from "assigning" intersex babies shortly after birth, because so many intersex people have found in adulthood that the doctors had not chosen wisely, or wish they'd been allowed to retain the equipment with which they were born into this world.
